All the BS about Anti-wrinkle injections

1. Cosmetic injections ARE NOT ‘painful

Anti-wrinkle injections is one of the few injectable treatments where we do not use numbing cream. The reason for this is simple – other than a slight scratch, it is uncommon for people to feel discomfort! Since we use a very fine needle the trauma to the skin is minimal.

2. You can STILL MAKE facial expressions

Unless you request the ‘frozen’ look specifically (which is desired by some people!), Anti-wrinkle injections will not inhibit you from making any facial expressions. Each dosage of Anti-wrinkle injections is personalised to the individual and the effects are only temporary. Therefore the face will return to a normal, full range of motion over time. Anti-wrinkle injections works by relaxing the muscle injected, therefore reducing the contraction and smoothing the area. Only the area injected will be relaxed.

3. Anti-wrinkle injections and Dermal Fillers are DIFFERENT

Both are injectable treatments but should not be confused! Each treatment aims to achieve a different outcome.

Anti-wrinkle injections is a muscle relaxant used to soften the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as preventing the formation of wrinkles. It can also be used to lift or drop certain features, e.g. to lift a brow.

Dermal fillers are used to build up an area, typically to either restore lost volume or to reshape a feature. They are longer lasting than Anti-wrinkle injections and consist of hyaluronic acid.

4. Cosmetic Anti-wrinkle injections is NOT BOTULISM

Anti-wrinkle injections does not consist of botulism or food poisoning. Anti-wrinkle injections is made from a purified protein that is simply derived from the same toxin – as is SO MANY different medications.  There has been many years of extensive research and testing for the safety and effectiveness of Anti-wrinkle injections treatments so there is nothing to be afraid of.

5. Anti-wrinkle injections is NOT JUST for aesthetics

Originally, Anti-wrinkle injections was used as a treatment for neurological disorders and not as a cosmetic facial treatment. Although today it is has been popularised by celebrities as an enhancing facial treatment, it is still used regularly by doctors to treat different conditions. Some therapeutic uses include management of migraines, chronic neck and back pain, treating sweating (hyperhydrosis), TMJ and bruxism symptoms, and overactive bladders.

6. Anti-wrinkle injections is not JUST for when you have wrinkles!

Prevent, prevent, prevent! How can you eliminate wrinkles most effectively? By never having them in the first place!

Injecting Anti-wrinkle injections into the muscles that cause wrinkles will stop them from over contracting and keep them smooth, limiting the movement and therefore the ensuing lines. Maintain a youthful look by starting a little younger and being proactive in your approach – save money on having to get more when you’re older!

7. Anti-wrinkle injections Treatments are NOT Toxic, Unsafe, and Dangerous

Safety check alert! Just 1 in 3,333 cases of Anti-wrinkle injections have side effects with 0 records of death or long-term side effects.

Nuff said.

8. Anti-wrinkle injections and Filler Treatments are for MEN TOO

While it’s true that the majority of our clients requesting these treatments are female, our bookings of male and transgender clients are on the rise! Men typically tend to be more private with their treatments due tot his misconception that it is purely for women.

9. Anti-wrinkle injections Treatments are Immediate

Anti-wrinkle injections takes around 14 days to take effect  with larger muscle areas taking 4 – 6 weeks. This is because the treatment works by changing the size/strength of the muscle injected which takes time. Nobody has ever seen immediate results so don’t be disheartened after your treatment with us!

Stay safe,
